The Office of Congressman Abe Hamadeh has shared several updates on recent legislative activities and initiatives through a series of tweets. These communications highlight the congressman’s efforts in tax reform, gun regulation, and national security.

On July 6, 2025, Congressman Hamadeh expressed his satisfaction with voting for the One Big Beautiful Bill (OBBB), describing it as delivering “the largest tax cut for middle- and working-class Americans in history.” The bill is aimed at increasing paychecks and take-home pay for families in Arizona’s 8th congressional district. “Congressman Hamadeh was proud to vote for the One Big Beautiful Bill, which delivers the largest tax cut for middle- and working-class Americans in history and secures increases in paychecks and take-home pay for the hardworking families in AZ-08.”

Later that day, he highlighted another aspect of the OBBB related to gun rights. According to his tweet from July 6, 2025, the bill represents a significant win for gun owners by eliminating “the $200 excise tax on suppressors, short-barreled rifles,” among other devices regulated under the National Firearms Act (NFA). Congressman Hamadeh emphasized his commitment to reducing regulatory barriers concerning safety tools like suppressors. “In a big victory for gun owners, the OBBB eliminated the $200 excise tax on suppressors, short-barreled rifles, & other devices regulated under the NFA.”

On July 7, 2025, Congressman Hamadeh drew upon his background as a former intelligence officer to discuss national security concerns. He mentioned HR 4070 proposed by Representative Knott as crucial legislation needed to address threats such as Tren de Aragua. This bill aims to identify tactical methods and funding sources necessary to combat these threats effectively. “As a former intelligence officer, Congressman Hamadeh recognizes the need for a comprehensive plan identifying tactical methods, funding, and origins of threats like Tren de Aragua.”
