The Senate Director Nominations Committee in Arizona has postponed the confirmation hearing for Karen Lee Peters, a nominee for the Department of Environmental Quality. The decision was announced by Jake Hoffman, Chair of the committee.
“Based on possible discrepancies with information relating to items we vetted, further clarification is necessary prior to holding Ms. Peters’ confirmation hearing,” stated Chairman Hoffman. He also mentioned that due to efforts focused on moving the state budget, resources are currently limited. “Given the Senate attempting to move the state budget today, our staff is stretched thin, and it is best to simply table the nomination for now.”
Hoffman assured that communication with Hobbs’ staff has been established regarding rescheduling Peters’ hearing soon.
