Congressman Abe Hamadeh, representing Arizona’s 8th Congressional District, recently used his official social media account to comment on Federal Reserve policy and highlight legislative achievements in the FY26 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA).
On July 18, 2025, Hamadeh criticized the leadership of the Federal Reserve Chairman, stating: “Chairman Powell’s mismanagement of the Fed, his refusal to lower interest rates, has made homeownership cost-prohibitive for many young families, denying them a key part of the American Dream. Yet another reason for him to resign.”
The following day, July 19, 2025, Hamadeh shared news regarding legislative accomplishments for his district and military personnel: “NEW Congressman Hamadeh secured some BIG wins for Congressional District Eight, America’s national defense AND our service members in this year’s #FY26NDAA. His team made a video to walk you through it! Learn more https://t.co/YQbNJHQKPl https://t.co/JwtSbfDTxI”
He also acknowledged contributors to the informational video about these achievements in a separate post on July 19: “A great video from @OliviaStonePR, @NicoDelgadoAZ and @Jedlyonsaz”.
Federal Reserve interest rate decisions have been under scrutiny due to their impact on housing affordability. Elevated interest rates can make mortgage payments more expensive and restrict access to homeownership for younger buyers.
The annual National Defense Authorization Act is a primary mechanism by which Congress sets policies and funding levels for U.S. military operations and support programs. Lawmakers often use its passage as an opportunity to secure resources or policy provisions that benefit their constituents or address national security priorities.
