Debbie Lesko, U.S. Congresswoman representing Arizona’s 8th District since 2018, has recently posted a series of statements on her official Twitter account addressing topics ranging from national politics to local historical preservation and immigration enforcement.
On August 7, 2025, Lesko commented on recent developments related to the previous administration’s actions during the presidential transition period. She stated, “The revelations about the Obama Admin’s scheme to undermine a President-elect before he took office vindicates those who defended Trump. It was an honor to serve as a defender of President @realDonaldTrump throughout the Russian hoax witch hunt against him & members of his team.”
The following day, August 8, 2025, Lesko highlighted her office’s involvement in preserving local history: “My office was honored to help facilitate the transfer of the Marinette Historical Monument to the Del Webb Sun Cities Museum. The marker is an important part of the west valley’s history, & it is critical we preserve this artifact for future generations.”
On August 9, 2025, she addressed border security and law enforcement efforts in Arizona: “The U.S. Attorney’s Office District of Arizona is hard at work to prosecute immigration-related offenses. These actions serve as a real deterrent to illegal aliens, cartels and smugglers – ‘you will be punished if you break our laws.'”
Lesko has represented Arizona’s 8th Congressional District since 2018 after serving in both chambers of the state legislature from 2009 through 2018. Born in Sheboygan, Wisconsin in 1958 and currently residing in Peoria, she holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin–Madison.
