Debbie Lesko, a former U.S. Congresswoman representing Arizona’s 8th District since 2018 and a longtime public servant in the state legislature, posted several messages on her social media account this week addressing recent events and legislative priorities.
On February 5, 2026, Lesko commented on a recent tragedy involving law enforcement officers in Flagstaff. She wrote: “Tragic news last night from Flagstaff. My prayers are with the family, friends, and colleagues of these two @Arizona_DPS servants who were killed in the line of duty. We mourn their passing.”
The following day, February 6, she addressed election security legislation by referencing her previous work in Congress: “I was a proud co-sponsor of the SAVE Act when I was in Congress and would have eagerly voted for the SAVE America Act as well. Americans deserve fair and secure elections. Let’s get this bill to President @realDonaldTrump’s desk!”
On February 7, Lesko responded to an advertisement she found moving: “What a powerful Ad. Life is a miracle.”
Lesko has held various elected positions in Arizona since 2009, serving first in the Arizona House of Representatives before joining the state Senate and later being elected to Congress. Born in Sheboygan, Wisconsin in 1958 and currently residing in Peoria at age 64, Lesko holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin–Madison.
