Debbie Lesko, a U.S. Congress representative for Arizona’s 8th District since 2018, has recently shared several updates on local governmental activities via social media. Lesko, who has also served in the Arizona House of Representatives and Senate, is known for her engagement with local governance issues.
On June 17, 2025, Lesko reported that the Board of Supervisors took measures to clarify election duties. In her tweet, she stated: “BREAKING: Board of Supervisors takes action to clarify division of election duties between @azjustinheap and the Elections Dept. for the benefit of the voters.”
The following day, June 18, 2025, Lesko noted that the Board of Supervisors received a briefing from the Arizona Auditor General. She expressed satisfaction with the county’s performance in her tweet: “The Board of Supervisors was briefed by the AZ Auditor General at a recent meeting. I was pleased to hear that the county is doing a good job and that recommendations for improvement are already being done.”
On June 19, 2025, Lesko attended a meeting with West Valley Mayors and Managers in Buckeye. During this event, various reports were presented including one by Brigadier General David Berkland from Luke Air Force Base. Lesko expressed gratitude for the information shared during this gathering in her tweet: “I recently attended the West Valley Mayors and Managers meeting in Buckeye to hear a number of reports… Thank you to everyone who gave us such valuable information about the state of our communities!”
Debbie Lesko was born in Sheboygan, Wisconsin in 1958 and currently resides in Peoria. She holds a BA from the University of Wisconsin–Madison.
