Debbie Lesko, a U.S. Congresswoman representing Arizona’s 8th District since 2018, recently shared a series of updates on her social media account highlighting community events and personal experiences.
On August 11, 2025, Lesko posted about her team’s participation in a local business event: “My team recently attended a ribbon cutting for HTeaO in Glendale. Welcome to Maricopa County! We are happy to have you in District 4.”
The following day, she commented on a military retirement ceremony at Luke Air Force Base: “I had the recent honor of attending the retirement ceremony for Chief Master Sergeant Jason Schaffer at Luke Air Force Base. Thank you, CMSgt Schaffer, for your dedicated service to our nation. We salute you and wish you the best with this next chapter of your life.” This message underscored appreciation for military service within her district.
On August 13, 2025, Lesko described a personal safety concern while visiting Washington D.C.: “I can tell you from personal experience..DC is crime-ridden! Someone pulled a gun at Chipotle’s when I was there with my grandson. Armed security at grocery stores. It’s dangerous!”
Lesko has served in Congress since 2018 after prior roles in both chambers of the Arizona legislature. She was born in Sheboygan, Wisconsin in 1958 and resides in Peoria. Lesko holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin–Madison.
