Debbie Lesko, U.S. Congresswoman representing Arizona’s 8th District since 2018 and a former member of both the Arizona House and Senate, recently posted a series of updates on her social media account. The posts highlight local policy changes, express support for colleagues, and comment on federal oversight in Maricopa County.

On April 30, 2026, Lesko announced a new reservation policy for Maricopa County parks: “NEW: Maricopa County residents can book campsites up to two weeks earlier than out-of-county visitors. Our parks are a valued community resource, and this change reflects our commitment to serving the residents who call Maricopa County home.”

Two days later, on May 2, 2026, she expressed admiration for Sylvia Allen: “I love @SylviaAllenAZ ! I had the privilege of serving with her in the AZ State Legislature. She is honest and passionate. I appreciate her and am glad she’s back.”

Later that same day, Lesko voiced support for legislation introduced by Rep. Andy Biggs concerning oversight of the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office: “Proud to support @RepAndyBiggsAZ recently introduced legislation, the Monitor Accountability Act, which would restore sanity to the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office. This federal monitor is out of control and must be reined in by Congress!”

Lesko has represented Arizona’s 8th District in Congress since 2018 after previously serving in both chambers of the state legislature from 2009 through 2018. Born in Sheboygan, Wisconsin in 1958 and currently residing in Peoria at age 64, she holds a BA from the University of Wisconsin–Madison.
