Debbie Lesko, U.S. Congresswoman representing Arizona’s 8th District since 2018, posted a series of messages on social media between May 11 and May 13, 2026, recognizing local achievements and expressing gratitude to community members in the West Valley.
On May 11, Lesko acknowledged law enforcement officers during Police Week. She wrote, “During this Police Week, we want to recognize all the law enforcement officers in the West Valley who watch over our neighborhoods and enforce our laws to keep us safe and our freedoms intact. We are grateful for you and pray for you.”
The following day, she congratulated recent graduates from area schools. On May 12, Lesko stated, “Congratulations to all the high school and college graduates from the West Valley! We are so proud of your accomplishments. Continue to seek understanding and serve your communities.”
On May 13, Lesko celebrated student winners of a countywide poster contest focused on stormwater awareness. She posted, “Congratulations again to the students selected as winners of the 2026 Maricopa County Stormwater Poster Contest – especially to the West Valley submissions. A job very well done by all!”
Lesko has represented Arizona’s 8th Congressional District since her election in 2018 after serving in both chambers of Arizona’s state legislature. Born in Sheboygan, Wisconsin in 1958 and currently residing in Peoria at age 64, she is an alumna of the University of Wisconsin–Madison.
