Debbie Lesko, U.S. Congresswoman representing Arizona’s 8th District since 2018, posted a series of statements on her social media account between May 23 and May 25, 2026, addressing school choice, voter identification requirements, and Memorial Day observances.
On May 23, Lesko voiced support for educational alternatives in a tweet stating, “Support School Choice… that includes charter schools, district schools, ESAs and home schooling. It’s about prioritizing education, not an institution.”
Later the same day, she commented on election security measures with another post, “Requiring ID to vote is common sense.”
On May 25, in recognition of Memorial Day, Lesko expressed gratitude to military service members: “Thank you to all the men and women who have paid the ultimate sacrifice in defense of the freedoms we enjoy throughout America. We honor your sacrifices, not just on Memorial Day, but every day of the year.”
Lesko has held office in Congress since 2018 after previously serving in both chambers of the Arizona state legislature. She was born in Sheboygan, Wisconsin in 1958 and currently resides in Peoria. Lesko earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Wisconsin–Madison.
