The Glendale Union High School District (GUHSD) has announced the schedule for its 2026 Parent University series, an initiative designed to help families stay informed and engaged as their children progress through high school. The program will begin in January 2026 and feature a series of evening workshops at several GUHSD campuses.
According to GUHSD, Parent University was created to provide a supportive environment where families can learn practical strategies, ask questions, and access resources for use at home. Each event will include information booths from partner agencies, giveaways, and on-site Spanish translators to ensure all families can participate.
The events will feature presentations by professionals covering topics such as cyber safety, sextortion prevention, substance-use trends, and trafficking awareness. Additional support will be available through community resource tables offering materials and guidance from partnering organizations. Door prizes are also planned as part of each event.
Workshops are scheduled at the following locations:
– Greenway High School in Phoenix on Tuesday, January 13
– Glendale High School in Glendale on Wednesday, January 28
– Apollo High School in Glendale on Tuesday, February 3
– Cortez High School in Phoenix on Tuesday, February 24
Sessions will be led by experts including Emily Steele (Cyber Safety & Sextortion), Stacey Sutherland (Sex Trafficking), and Tommy Morga (Drug Awareness & Current Trends).
Participation is open to all GUHSD families free of charge. Each campus aims to provide a welcoming environment for learning and connection.
