The Glendale Union High School District Governing Board announced on Mar. 18 the recognition of three staff members who have each completed 25 years of service at Independence High School. The honorees are Kristin Latraille, Food Service Supervisor; Brett Tracy, Computer Science Educator; and Laura Trezza, School Counselor.
This milestone highlights the long-term commitment and contributions these individuals have made to students, families, and the broader school community. Their dedication is seen as an example of how experience and care can shape a positive environment for generations of students.
Latraille began her career as a Student Coordinator Lead before becoming Food Service Supervisor, where she manages cafeteria operations and trains staff. Tracy teaches four levels of Computer Science at both Independence and Greenway high schools, advises Future Business Leaders of America chapters, coaches boys tennis, and has been recognized as a 5A Section Coach of the Year in 2018. Trezza started as an instructional aide before teaching math at several district schools. Since 2015, she has served as a counselor at Independence High School, supporting graduation planning and coordinating programs such as Education Career Action Plan meetings.
The district provides many extracurricular opportunities including championship athletics and award-winning fine arts according to the official website. It also promotes a safe and inclusive environment that emphasizes respect and student well-being according to the official website. All schools within the district have received “A” ratings and recognition among America’s best high schools according to the official website.
Glendale Union High School District includes ten comprehensive high schools serving grades nine through twelve according to the official website. The district aims to deliver rigorous academic programs along with STEM education, career training, and extracurricular activities to support student growth according to the official website.
