All nine high schools in the Glendale Union High School District have been named among the nation’s best by U.S. News & World Report for 2025. The recognized schools are Apollo, Cortez, Glendale, Greenway, Independence, Moon Valley, Sunnyslope, Thunderbird, and Washington High Schools.
U.S. News & World Report evaluates schools based on factors such as college readiness, state assessment performance, and graduation rates. The rankings aim to highlight both academic achievement and a commitment to equity in education. “This recognition reflects the excellence, dedication, and hard work shown by our students, teachers, and staff every day. The district emphasized that being listed among the best high schools in the country demonstrates its focus on providing opportunities and support for all students throughout their education.
