Jennifer Riseden, faculty lead of the family nurse practitioner program at Grand Canyon University’s College of Nursing and Health Care Professions, has received the DAISY Award. The award is a national honor given to nursing educators who inspire and motivate students, serve as role models, and promote a culture of caring.
Riseden was nominated by her colleagues for her commitment to teaching future nurses. “This is truly a team,” she said. “I’m a doer. I help and step in when needed.” She emphasized the importance of teamwork in contributing to student success and program growth.
“We’re always striving for excellence,” Riseden said. “And we’re looking for ways to make things better so the program is the best it can be.” She noted that her team is dedicated to supporting students in the family nurse practitioner program. “We are happy with the progress of the program and the students,” she added.
Riseden described nursing as more than just a career. She believes entering the profession is a calling, reflecting her dedication to training future nurse practitioners.
