A group of students from Grand Canyon University has received recognition from the Rocky Mountain Emmy Foundation, which recently announced its 2025 student nominations in several categories, including film, animation, commercial music, and dance. The foundation acknowledges students who are working toward careers as digital media creators, journalists, and broadcasters across Arizona, New Mexico, Utah, and southeastern California.
The nominated projects from Grand Canyon University include “Holocaust Education Center” by graphic designer Mica Paden in the College Public Affairs/Community Service category; “Trust,” directed by Saint Lopez in collaboration with Commercial Music and Dance; “A$ID RAIN” by co-directors Nick Hawley and Andrew Baker in the College Music Video category; “R3WIND” produced by Aidan Arvold for College Fiction-Short Form; “Frames,” directed by Nick Hawley for College Fiction-Long Form; and “24 Pages – Chapel Promo” photographed by Sam Jerrell for College Promotional Video.
According to the Rocky Mountain Emmy Foundation: “The foundation honors students committed to becoming the next generation of digital media creators, journalists and broadcasters in Arizona, New Mexico, Utah and southeastern California.”
Winners will be announced on September 6. Those selected will advance to a national competition.
