Scott Stafford, a science teacher at Greenway High School, has been recognized by the Glendale Union High School District Governing Board for 25 years of service. Stafford’s career includes roles as a teacher, coach, and leader within the district.
Currently teaching Physics, Honors Biology, and Biology at Greenway High School, Stafford previously spent much of his career at Glendale High School. He is known for his commitment to academic rigor and student achievement.
In addition to classroom teaching, Stafford served as Science Department Chair for 15 years and supported summer school and Project Sharpe programs. He also mentored student teachers entering the profession. His involvement in athletics spans more than 50 coaching seasons. Among his achievements are holding the record for most wins in Glendale High School history and being named Phoenix Suns Coach of the Year, Arizona Big Schools Coach of the Year, and Region Coach of the Year twice. He has received Achievement Above All honors for both teaching and group leadership.
According to those who have worked with him, Stafford measures success by the impact he has had on students and athletes over his career. He has taught or coached more than 4,500 students during his time in the district.
The Glendale Union High School District oversees ten comprehensive high schools serving grades 9 through 12 from its administration in Glendale, Arizona.
