Immanuel Campus of Care holds top spot for nursing home size in Maricopa County in Q1 2026

Immanuel Campus of Care emerged as Maricopa County’s largest nursing home during the first quarter of 2026, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) reported.

The facility offered 228 beds, 110 above the county average at that time, and served an average of 165.9 residents across the quarter.

CMS assessed Immanuel Campus of Care with an overall rating of 2 out of 5, notably below Arizona’s nursing home average of 3.4.

Providence Place at Glencroft registered as the county’s second largest facility, providing 225 beds, while Life Care Center of North Glendale was third, with 223 beds available.

By the close of Q1 2026, Immanuel Campus of Care faced two fines totaling $18,529 and was subject to two penalties.

Maricopa County counted a total of 68 for-profit nursing homes in Arizona.

U.S. Census Bureau estimates indicate the nation’s older adult population continues rising as the number of individuals in younger age groups decreases. Between 2020 and 2024, Americans age 65 and up grew by 13%, while those under 18 declined by 1.7%. The share of older adults has increased greatly in the last century, moving from 4.9 million in 1920 to over 61 million by 2024.

According to a 2021 analysis, nearly half of U.S. residents in this age group—about 28 million—are expected to need long-term services and support, and more than a third could require nursing home care at some point.

“Living a long life is something that many of us want and could get,” said Jesse Slome, executive director of the American Association for Long-Term Care Insurance, an insurance education organization. “But when we live a long life, the chances of us needing long-term care increase exponentially. But when you need that type of care, there are limited options.”
