Jake Hoffman, a Republican serving as Arizona State Senator for the 15th District since 2023, has recently used his social media platform to voice concerns about leadership and personnel decisions within Arizona’s Republican Party.

On August 29, 2025, Hoffman posted that “Attorney General Mayes is citing AZGOP Chair Gina Swoboda’s comments as justification for her lawfare against universal school choice. WE HAVE A MAJOR PROBLEM IN THE ARIZONA REPUBLICAN PARTY.”

Later the same day, Hoffman commented on alleged connections between Stephen Richer’s wife and the Department of Justice. He wrote on August 29, 2025: “Stephen Richer’s allegedly PRO-OPEN BORDERS wife is working for the DOJ She’s reportedly employed in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Arizona This woman is dangerous to have anywhere near the federal gov’t or @realDonaldTrump’s administration!”

In a post dated August 30, 2025, Hoffman criticized Gina Swoboda’s conduct as chair of the Arizona GOP: “Totally unprofessional & more proof Gina is not fit to be AZGOP Chair Gina is now lobbing personal, ad hominem attacks against the COO of America’s largest conservative activist org She’s attacking the leader of an org raising $30+ MILLION to elect REPUBLICANS in AZ in 2026”

Hoffman’s statements come amid ongoing debates within Arizona’s Republican Party over school choice policies and party leadership. As background, Hoffman was elected to represent Arizona’s 15th Senate District in 2023 after succeeding Nancy K. Barto.
