Jake Hoffman, a Republican serving as Arizona State Senator for the 15th District since 2023, has posted a series of tweets criticizing recent educational and political decisions in Arizona.

On August 27, 2025, Hoffman expressed concern over an international organization’s recommendation to the Peoria Unified School District. He stated: “But this international org takes it even further, wanting @PeoriaUnified11 to ‘radically redesign, revise, and expand’ its ‘scholarships and grants’ so that FIFTY PERCENT are ‘BIPOC’

This is the government using YOUR tax dollars for social engineering

NOT OKAY!” (August 27, 2025).

In a subsequent tweet on the same day, Hoffman criticized Tom Horne’s Arizona Department of Education for its stance on funding organizations with these policies. He wrote: “As if this all wasn’t outrageous enough, Tom Horne’s ADE says that funneling tax $$ to orgs that promote this racist, woke ideology is:

‘NOT considered a misuse of funds’

So Tom Horne thinks it’s acceptable for districts to promote racism & racial quotas??

AZ needs a new SPI!” (August 27, 2025).

Later that evening, Hoffman commented on internal party dynamics within the Arizona GOP. He said: “I wish we had an AZGOP chair who went on the radio to attack our 2026 opponents.

Instead, we have one that goes on Leftist radio shows to parrot DEMOCRAT talking points against ESAs.

On air she sided with Democrats & their mouthpieces Gaydos & Barry Marxson who hate the GOP!” (August 28, 2025).

Hoffman was elected to represent Arizona’s 15th Senate District in 2023 after succeeding Nancy K. Barto. His recent comments reflect ongoing debates in Arizona regarding education policy and party leadership within the state’s Republican Party.
