Jake Hoffman, a Republican elected to the Arizona State Senate in 2023 to represent the state’s 15th Senate District, has raised concerns on social media about Peoria Unified School District’s relationship with an international organization. In a series of posts on August 27, 2025, Hoffman criticized the district’s potential allocation of funds and questioned the ideological influence of the organization.
In his first post, Hoffman stated: “Not only does this international org that Peoria Schools wants to send YOUR money to scream about America’s rampant ‘white supremacy’ & ‘oppression’ every chance it gets It wants your gov’t-run schools to force feed this woke, racist ideology on EVERYONE it interacts with.” (August 27, 2025).
He continued his criticism in another message posted the same day: ” ARIZONA GOV’T SCHOOLS PROMOTING RACISM What is going on in @PeoriaUnified11?! This international org is pushing racial hiring quotas & ideology in our schools! Why on earth is any public body still sending TAXPAYER MONEY to orgs that promote this filth? “ (August 27, 2025).
In a third post, Hoffman highlighted concerns regarding perceptions of racism and support for local opposition: “This international org that @PeoriaUnified11 wants to send YOUR tax dollars to also thinks you, your children, your neighbors, and your school district are racists and white supremacists. Thank God @ThePeoriaMom is fighting this tooth & nail! Will other board members join her?” (August 27, 2025).
Hoffman’s remarks come amid ongoing debates over education policy and funding in Arizona. The Peoria Unified School District has previously faced scrutiny from various stakeholders regarding its partnerships and curriculum decisions. These discussions reflect broader national conversations about diversity initiatives and their place within public education systems.
