Jake Hoffman, a Republican state senator representing Arizona’s 15th Senate District since 2023, posted several statements on his X (formerly Twitter) account on August 22, 2025. His tweets addressed issues ranging from immigration statistics to criticisms of local media and political leadership.
In one post, Hoffman asserted: “55M non-citizens on visas + 25-40M illegal aliens ————————————— 80-95 MILLION total non-citizens Total U.S. population = 342 million Percentage of population that are non-citizens: 23-28% ONE-QUARTER OF THE PEOPLE IN THE U.S. ARE NOT CITIZENS. This must end.” (August 22, 2025).
Later the same day, he criticized the editor of a Phoenix publication, writing: “Says Arizona’s foremost purveyor of fake news and journalistic slop — the Editor of the pro-prostitution @phoenixnewtimes “ (August 22, 2025).
In another tweet that evening, Hoffman commented on state politics and education policy: “AZGOP’s totally failed Chair fell hook line and sinker for the Democrats hyperbole about Arizona’s nationally renowned school choice program Disqualifying level of incompetence for a Republican Party Chairman.” (August 22, 2025).
Hoffman was elected to the Arizona State Senate in 2023 after serving as a member of various political organizations within the state. He succeeded Nancy K. Barto in representing District 15.
