Sun Health Grandview Care Center remained under the ownership of Sun Health Services during the first quarter of 2026, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) reported. This Maricopa County nursing home has been managed by Sun Health Services since July 1, 2011.

The facility is classified as a non-profit organization.

At that time, the center earned an overall CMS rating of five, surpassing Arizona’s state average of 3.4 for nursing homes. CMS assesses nursing facilities on crucial elements like results from health inspections, staffing sufficiency and levels, and resident care quality.

Data shows Sun Health Grandview Care Center cared for an average daily census of 61.9 residents with 72 beds available in the period reviewed. It is currently not affiliated with a hospital.

The center had no fines or penalties issued throughout the first quarter of 2026.

Maricopa County, Arizona, had eight non-profit nursing facilities in total.

U.S. Census Bureau estimates show that the adult population aged 65 and older in the United States is rising while younger demographics decline. From 2020 to 2024, people 65 and up grew by 13%, while those under 18 decreased by 1.7%. The U.S. has experienced significant growth in older adults during the past 100 years, up from 4.9 million in 1920 to over 61 million by 2024.

A 2021 study estimates that nearly half of individuals in this age group, or about 28 million people, will require long-term services and supports. The study further indicates that more than one-third may ultimately need nursing home care.

“Living a long life is something that many of us want and could get,” said Jesse Slome, executive director of the American Association for Long-Term Care Insurance. “But when we live a long life, the chances of us needing long-term care increase exponentially. But when you need that type of care, there are limited options.”
