U.S. Census figures show that while Glendale remains by far the biggest city in the West Valley as home to 252,381, its growth was just by a mere 1% in 2019.

The slight increase indicates that Glendale’s growth is slower in comparison to its neighbors in the Valley.

Currently, Glendale trails Phoenix, Mesa, Chandler, Gilbert and Scottsdale. Despite its small showing in the past year, the city has grown by 11.6% in the past decade.

The Glendale Star reported that Census numbers will not be official again until the 2020 figures are released next year.

Glendale ranks as the sixth biggest Valley city.
