The City of Peoria’s General Plan 2040 will make an appearance on the November ballot, the city reported.
Because the State of Arizona requires that cities ratify their general plans every ten years, this will be the first of a two-part approach which will delve into topics of local importance.
The Peoria General Plan 2040 will help the city plan its growth and development for the next decade. Meant to represent all parties impacted by the changes, the plan has been formed with the participation of its citizens and business and community leaders, technical staff members and advisors.
The plan envisions a “safe, connected, engaged, vibrant, and livable community that emphasizes fiscal responsibility and thoughtful growth to ensure a healthy city for all citizens,” Peoria’s government website reported.
Improved public services, integrated transportation, better arts, culture and recreational opportunities and healthy neighborhoods are all part of the the City of Peoria’s General Plan 2040.
