Rep. Kevin Payne is running for re-election for the Arizona House of Representatives and advanced forward during the Aug. 4 primary election.

Payne ran against Beverly Pingerelli and Randy Miller during the Republican primary election for the House District 21 seat, according to Ballotpedia. During the primary, two nominees are voted to advance forward and the rest will not be joining them in the general election in November.

Pingerelli advanced forward with Payne, beating fellow candidate Miller in the primary. Payne and Pingerelli will now be facing each other and Democrat nominee Kathy Knecht in November.

Payne is a current member of the Arizona House. His term is set to end on Jan. 10, 2021, according to Ballotpedia.

Pingerelli is part of the Peoria Unified School District Governing Board in Arizona. Pingerelli's term on the board will end in 2022, according to Ballotpedia

Democrat Knecht is a former member of the board, but left her position in 2018 after being in office since 2006.
