The Peoria Police Department is organizing a blood drive on Tuesday, February 13, at the Peoria Police North Precinct located at 23100 N. Lake Pleasant Parkway. The event will take place from 9 am to 1 pm. Individuals interested in participating can sign up for a slot by visiting www.donors.vitalant.org or by calling 877.25.VITAL. When signing up, please use the blood drive code 10053034.

By collaborating with Vitalant, the Peoria Police Department hopes to maximize the impact of the blood drive and ensure that the donated blood reaches those who need it the most.

Donating blood is a simple process that takes approximately one hour to complete. The blood collected during the drive will be used to treat various medical conditions, including surgeries, traumas, and chronic illnesses. Every donation has the potential to save up to three lives.

To participate in the blood drive, individuals must be at least 16 years old, weigh at least 110 pounds, and be in good health. It is recommended to have a light meal and plenty of fluids before donating blood. All donors will receive a mini-physical, including blood pressure, temperature, and iron level checks, to ensure their eligibility to donate.
