Arizona Senator Janae Shamp expressed her gratitude for Tractor Supply's recent policy changes, stating she is "grateful" that the company has reverted to policies that allow them "to be a rural hometown partner." She added that former CEO Joe Scarlett would "never have let" the previous changes happen. Shamp made this statement in a June 27 post on X.
"Former CEO Joe Scarlett would never have let this happen," said Shamp, Arizona State Senator from 29th District (R). "Grateful to see @TractorSupply listen to their customers and revert to the policies that have enabled them to be a rural hometown partner to so many communities across America."
Tractor Supply has announced several significant changes to its policies and focus areas. According to a press release by Tractor Supply, the company will no longer submit data to the Human Rights Campaign, will refocus Team Member Engagement Groups on mentoring and supporting business, and will stop sponsoring non-business activities like pride festivals and voting campaigns. Additionally, Tractor Supply will eliminate Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) roles, retire current DEI goals while aiming to promote a respectful environment, and withdraw carbon emission goals to concentrate on land and water conservation efforts.
