October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
El Mirage is hosting a Domestic Violence Awareness Virtual Forum Oct. 19 at 6:30 p.m. through the El Mirage Cares program, a City initiative to educate and provide information and resources regarding important social issues. In addition, City buildings will be lit purple in October.
- The forum is free and open to the public and will feature expertise from the El Mirage Police Department’s Victim Assistance Unit and local nonprofits.
- In 2021, the El Mirage Police Department Victim Assistance Unit responded with assistance to 465 domestic violence calls. #DVAM
