Glendale Councilmember Lauren Tolmachoff has been appointed to the National League of Cities (NLC) Women in Municipal Government (WIMG) board of directors. She will serve a two-year term, contributing to discussions on policy issues and solutions for American cities and towns.

“I’m honored to be appointed by my colleagues as a board member of the Women in Municipal Government,” said Tolmachoff. “I’m passionate about supporting and advocating for women to seek public office and I look forward to working together to raise awareness about issues of concern to women, while learning from each other and sharing best practices to improve our communities.”

Tolmachoff's career in Glendale politics began when she was elected to the City Council in November 2014, starting her term on December 9, 2014. Her roles include serving on the board of directors for Valley Metro RPTA and participating in several committees such as the Transportation, Infrastructure and Public Works Committee for the League of Arizona Cities and Towns, along with NLC's Information Technology and Communications Committee. She is also involved with the NLC Women in Municipal Government and Large Cities Council.

In addition to her political career, Tolmachoff has worked as a Realtor® since 2004 after transitioning from banking. Her professional affiliations include being an NAR Realtor® Champion, a member of the Women’s Council of Realtors, and past president of the Glendale Rotary Club.

The Tolmachoff family has longstanding ties with Glendale dating back to 1911. Committed to community progress, Tolmachoff focuses on fiscally responsible decisions aimed at enhancing residents' lives.
