WASHINGTON, D.C.—On July 14, U.S. Congresswoman Debbie Lesko (AZ-08) released the following statement after the U.S. House of Representatives passed the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2024:

“I was pleased to vote for the 2024 NDAA which included critical provisions to support our servicemembers, strengthen our readiness, and ensure our military is prepared to defend our nation against our adversaries. The bill included the largest pay increase for servicemembers in over 20 years, an increase in the Basic Allowance for Housing, and other critical investments in barracks, childcare centers, and schools that will improve the lives of servicemembers on bases. After a robust amendment process, I was also pleased to see that the bill included critical protections against taxpayer funding of abortions and gender reassignment surgeries and protected against the radical teaching of Critical Race Theory and gender ideology in DoD schools and other military instruction.”
