On December 13th and 14th, 2023, the City of Tucson Department of Transportation and Mobility (DTM) will be conducting maintenance work at the Golf Links Road and Camino Seco intersection. The project is part of the Proposition 101 - Tucson Delivers Better Streets Program, aimed at improving the city's road infrastructure.

Under contract with Southern Arizona Paving, crews will be milling and paving the intersection to enhance the quality and safety of the roads. As a result, there will be lane reductions on Golf Links Road in both eastbound and westbound directions. Motorists should expect travel delays during these two days.

During the improvement project, left and right turns from Golf Links Road to southbound Camino Seco will be prohibited. To access southbound travel on Camino Seco from Golf Links Road, the public can use Sarnoff Drive as an alternate route.

The work hours for this project will be from 6 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. each day. However, please note that the schedule is subject to change due to inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances. To keep motorists informed, electronic message boards have been installed to provide updates on the upcoming work.

The Tucson Delivers Better Streets Program, which has a budget of $100 million, is funded by a half-cent sales tax increase approved by Tucson voters in May 2017. This program aims to make significant improvements to the city's streets.

In a statement, the City of Tucson expressed gratitude for the public's cooperation during the construction process, acknowledging the inconvenience caused by the temporary lane restrictions. The city is committed to improving the quality and safety of the streets for its residents.
