The City of Tucson has recently released a Request for Proposals (RFP) for housing initiatives aimed at assisting individuals and families living with HIV/AIDS. The funding for this project will be provided through the Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS (HOPWA) program, and the subaward will be awarded for City Fiscal Year 2025.

The City is inviting eligible non-profit organizations to submit applications for three specific types of housing assistance: Transitional Shelter with Supportive Services, Tenant-Based Rental Assistance with Supportive Services, and Short-Term Rent Mortgage and Utility Assistance. These services are crucial in providing support and stability for individuals and families affected by HIV/AIDS.

To be considered for this opportunity, applicants must be not-for-profit organizations with 501(c)(3) or 501(c)(4) tax designations. Additionally, they must have at least three years of experience in providing housing assistance and/or supportive services for households affected by HIV/AIDS.

Interested parties have until 12pm (noon) Arizona time on January 22, 2024, to submit their applications. It is strongly encouraged that all applicants attend a virtual pre-proposal conference, which will be held from 9am to 10am on January 3, 2024. This conference will provide valuable information and guidance for potential applicants.

According to the City of Tucson's official website, the Request for Proposals and application details can be found at the following link: [https://p-chip.tucsonaz.gov/pages/call-for-projects](https://p-chip.tucsonaz.gov/pages/call-for-projects). This initiative by the City of Tucson highlights their commitment to addressing the housing needs of individuals and families living with HIV/AIDS. By providing funding and support through the HOPWA program, the City aims to create a more inclusive and supportive community for those affected by this health condition.
