On Saturday, December 16, 2023, beginning at 5:30 p.m., the following streets will close to motorists for the 29th Annual Downtown Parade of Lights:
- Stone Avenue, between Broadway Boulevard and 18th Street
- Scott Avenue, between Broadway Boulevard and 14th Street
- Sixth Avenue, between Broadway Boulevard and 18th Street
- Fifth Street, between Broadway Boulevard and 18th Street
- McCormick Street between Church Avenue and Scott Avenue
- Cushing Street between Church/Convent Avenue and Stone Avenue
- Simpson Street between Convent Avenue and Stone Avenue
- Kennedy Street between Convent Avenue and Stone Avenue
- Ochoa Street between Stone Avenue and Scott Avenue
All roadways are scheduled to reopen by approximately 8:30 p.m., the same evening.
The parade begins at 6:30 p.m. on Stone Avenue at 17th Street then proceeds north, turns east on Ochoa Street/12th Street, turns south on Sixth Avenue, and ends on Sixth Avenue and 13th Street. For more information about the Downtown Parade of Lights, visit downtownparadeoflights.com.
Motorists driving in the area can expect traffic delays associated with this event, plan accordingly. The traveling public should use caution when driving, bicycling or walking in this area. Please watch for event participants, obey all traffic control, and watch for detour signs and personnel providing traffic control.
