Congressman Abraham J. Hamadeh is urging young artists to participate in the 2025 Congressional Art Competition. The event is open to high school students in Arizona's Eighth Congressional District. It provides an opportunity for students to showcase their artistic skills.

“As a new Member of Congress, I am looking forward to sharing the work of Congressional District 8's young artists with the rest of the world through the annual Congressional Art Competition,” stated Congressman Hamadeh.

The competition is organized each year by Members of the U.S. House of Representatives to encourage artistic talent across the country, including the 8th Congressional District. It is open to students in grades eight through twelve, including those in homeschool, online school, or other learning programs.

This year, an award ceremony is scheduled for April 26th at the Congressman’s District office in Surprise, Arizona. All submissions will be displayed at the office, and winners will be announced during the ceremony. An independent panel of art enthusiasts from the district will select the winners.

The first-place winner's artwork will be exhibited in the U.S. Capitol for a year. The second-place artwork will be displayed in Congressman Hamadeh's Washington, D.C., office, while the third-place winner's piece will remain at the district office in Surprise.

The deadline for submission is April 23rd, 2025, and artworks must be delivered to the district office. The office will coordinate with schools for artwork collection.

More information can be found on Congressman Hamadeh’s website or the Art Competition page at house.gov.
