Several West Valley law enforcement agencies have come together in a concerted effort to improve road safety in Arizona. The collaboration has led to the creation of a West Valley Speed and Aggressive Driver Task Force aimed at enforcing the state's laws on speeding and aggressive driving.

The participating agencies in this initiative include the Arizona Department of Public Safety, Avondale Police Department, Buckeye Police Department, El Mirage Police Department, Glendale Police Department, Goodyear Police Department, Maricopa County Sheriff's Office, Surprise Police Department, and Peoria Police Department.

The Task Force's primary objective is succinctly captured in the campaign slogan, "Safe Speeds Save Lives." Emphasizing the importance of responsible driving behavior, the initiative seeks to address the prevalent issue of road accidents caused by speeding and aggressive driving.

A key feature of the campaign is its commitment to high-visibility traffic enforcement, with a strict zero-tolerance policy towards violations related to speeding and aggressive driving. By enhancing enforcement measures, the Task Force aims to deter reckless behavior on the road and ultimately reduce the incidence of serious accidents.

Highlighting the urgent need for such initiatives, the organizers noted that despite ongoing efforts to educate drivers about safe practices, motor vehicle collisions remain a significant cause of fatalities and injuries in Arizona. The campaign's duration is set to extend through July 31, 2024, underscoring the sustained commitment of the West Valley law enforcement agencies to promoting road safety and saving lives through proactive enforcement measures.
