Blake Masters, the Republican Congressional candidate for Arizona’s 8th District, criticized President Joe Biden during a recent episode of the Clay Travis & Buck Sexton Show. "So if there's one thing Joe Biden can do to unite the country, it's because he's so horrible everyone knows that he's bad," said Masters.

"They're bad for Joe Biden. I think it highlights how he can't really keep a lid on his own coalition," Masters said, regarding the campus protests that have been happening around the country. "You guys probably saw this video too, there was one where you had the the MAGA frat boys who were saying ‘F Joe Biden' and then the police in the middle and then on the other side you had the Gaza Hamas protesters saying ‘F Joe Biden. So if there's one thing Joe Biden can do to unite the country, it's because he's so horrible everyone knows that he's bad."

NBC News reported that Biden reiterated the White House’s stance on the ongoing unrest without presenting new insights. He strongly denounced violent actions and urged protesters to remain peaceful and lawful. "We’ve all seen the images," said Biden, referring to recent clashes at UCLA and Columbia University where police disbandments and arrests of protesters at encampments had escalated. "While protesting is a right, causing chaos is not," he emphasized.

Masters further criticized Biden by suggesting that his ineffectiveness is evident from the fact that diverse groups, from Make America Great Again (MAGA) supporters to protesters with differing views, are united in their disapproval of him. Masters highlighted an incident where both groups expressed their dissatisfaction with Biden, underscoring his point that Biden's leadership is failing to maintain unity within his own coalition.

In a statement from Arizona State University, it was revealed that protests on campus had violated multiple university policies including unauthorized tents, overnight presence, and use of unreserved space. This resulted in its classification as an unlawful assembly extending past the 11 p.m. policy cutoff. After extensive discussions, non-student protestors were repeatedly informed via loudspeaker that their encampment was unlawful and they faced arrest if they did not disperse. Following these arrests, the number of enrolled students detained rose to 20. These students now face interim suspensions with the right to appeal, with any further disciplinary actions dependent on subsequent investigations and hearings.

Masters is running for office in Arizona’s 8th Congressional District. He previously received endorsement from former President Donald Trump for his 2022 race for U.S. Senate. Masters, an Arizona native, graduated from Stanford University and Stanford Law School. He and his wife, Catherine, are parents to four sons.
