A new non-profit restaurant, Hanai, has recently opened its doors at Peoria City Hall. The Hawaiian name "Hanai" translates to "chosen family," reflecting the café's mission to employ youth who are either in transitional housing programs or have aged out of foster care.

Hanai is more than just a café; it is a social enterprise where 100% of the proceeds are directed towards their non-profit organization, Friends of Ohana. Each year, Hanai trains and hires approximately 50 foster youth, providing them with valuable job experience and responsibility in a work setting.

The café offers an array of food and beverage options. Customers can choose from a selection of espresso, cold brew, teas, refreshers, frappes, and energy drinks. Additionally, there is a variety of baked goods on offer including muffins and danishes. The menu also features breakfast sandwiches & bowls, waffles with toppings, lunch sandwiches & wraps, and salads.

Hanai operates from Monday through Thursday between the hours of 7 am to 3 pm. For further information about Hanai and its mission, visit www.hanaiaz.com.
