On Thursday, June 6, Peoria’s Planning and Zoning Commission will hold a study session to discuss amendments to Peoria’s General Plan. The Planning Department provided a 2024 Major General Plan Amendment Update to the City Council in a May 7 study session. A clip of this update is available on YouTube.
The Peoria City Council has identified Economic Development, Water Security, Innovative Government, and Public Safety as priority areas for advancing the city. The city is pursuing strategies to promote a balanced and dynamic economy that leverages local strengths and supports job growth and economic expansion. To align with these goals, city staff are proposing refinements to the text and maps within the General Plan.
In addition to Thursday's meeting, Peoria will host additional meetings to discuss amendments to the General Plan. More information can be found at peoriaaz.gov/generalplan.
