U.S. Congressional candidate Blake Masters (R-AZ-8) said due to President Joe Biden's border policies, "hundreds of thousands of foreign pedophiles, rapists, criminals and gang members" have entered the country and are endangering American citizens.

“Thanks to Joe Biden and the Democrats, hundreds of thousands of foreign pedophiles, rapists, criminals and gang members have been welcomed into America," Masters said. "It’s extremely dangerous and downright un-American. When I get to Washington DC, I’m going to put a stop to this madness.”

During fiscal year 2024 to date, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has arrested 29,296 illegal aliens who have previous criminal convictions or who are wanted by law enforcement.

That’s according to an analysis of CBP data conducted by Tucson Standard.

10,925 of these arrests have been made by the U.S. Border Patrol, and 18,572 of these arrests have been made by the CBP’s Office of Field Operations. The CBP’s 2024 fiscal year runs from October 1, 2023 to September 30, 2024.

One of the nine sectors of the U.S.-Mexico border is the Tucson Sector, which covers 262 border miles and includes all of the Arizona-Mexico border and parts of the California-Mexico border.

John R. Modlin, U.S. Border Patrol’s chief patrol agent in the Tucson Sector, regularly posts on X reports of arrests of these illegal aliens with prior convictions.

"Another registered sex offender arrested by Tucson Sector agents. Miguel Alcantar-Tovar was arrested near Naco, AZ," posted Modlin on May 13. "The Mexican citizen was convicted in Nevada in 2009 following charges of sexual assault & lewdness with a minor under 14."

"He faces felony charges," reported Modlin.

Modlin joined the US Border Patrol in 1995 and has since worked in a variety of positions in the San Diego Sector, Detroit Sector, Miami Sector, and several posts on either coast.

The CBP reports national statistics on the types of previous crimes and convictions of illegals apprehended at U.S. borders. Thus far in FY2024, there have been 662 arrests of illegals previously convicted of assault, battery, and domestic violence; 1,778 arrests of those previously convicted of driving under the influences; 942 arrests of illegals with previous illegal drug possession or trafficking convictions.

Modlin’s X posts, however, share more specifics about the arrests of illegals with previous convictions or warrants. In the first four months of calendar year 2024, these have included arrests of illegal aliens with previous convictions for pedophilia, molestation, rape, illegal drugs, gang activity, and murder.
