The City of Peoria is seeking input from residents to help create more affordable housing opportunities and meet community development needs for the next five years. Three public hearings have been scheduled to gather information and feedback from the community.
The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) requires the Five-Year Consolidated Plan (ConPlan) to receive annual funding under the guidelines of a CDBG entitlement city. This information will assist the City in establishing strategies and goals for utilizing Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and HOME Investment Partnerships Program (HOME) funding to address these needs. It may also be used to direct other resources to benefit the community.
Residents are encouraged to attend one of three public hearings:
- Thursday, June 27, 2024, from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the Peoria Community Center, Calderwood Room, 8335 W. Jefferson Street
- Monday, July 8, 2024, from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. at the Rio Vista Recreation Center, Riverside Room, 8866 W. Thunderbird Road (Virtually and In-person)
- Tuesday, July 9, 2024, from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m. at the Sunrise Mountain Library, Community Room, 21109 N. 98th Avenue (Virtually and In-person)
In addition to attending a public hearing, residents can also provide input through an online community survey available at https://www.research.net/r/Peoria-Community until September 30.
