The city of Glendale has announced the appointment of Kimberly Hall as the new Community Services Director. Hall, who has extensive experience working with Goodwill Industries across several states, takes over from Jean Moreno following her retirement after 30 years of service.

In her new role, Hall will oversee strategic planning, policy development, community funding, and engagement efforts aimed at enhancing services for Glendale residents. She will lead a team of over 110 staff members responsible for programs such as neighborhood revitalization, community housing, and library services.

Glendale City Manager Kevin Phelps expressed enthusiasm about Hall's appointment: “We are excited to have a proven leader step into a role supporting the critical needs of our residents.” He emphasized the significant impact of the department on the community and praised Hall's professional experience and leadership qualities.

Before joining Glendale, Hall was the Chief Executive Officer at Goodwill Southern Los Angeles County. Her previous roles included leading workforce development and disaster recovery efforts for Goodwill Industries of South Mississippi.

Hall expressed her commitment to improving the lives of Glendale residents: “It is an honor to lead a team of dedicated public servants who have a passion for improving the lives of Glendale residents.” She aims to strengthen community services focusing on education, infrastructure, housing, and crisis support.

Hall holds a Bachelor’s degree in Human Services Management from University of Phoenix and a Master’s degree in Leadership from Grand Canyon University. Her first day in office will be Tuesday, November 12.
