Kat "La Guera Pistolera" Lindenmuth, a professional boxer from Bosque Farms, New Mexico, stands at 4 feet 11 inches but has shown that determination is not measured by size. The Grand Canyon University (GCU) alumna has overcome personal adversity, including the loss of her husband James Lindenmuth, a longtime ring announcer. As a single mother of three boys, she pursued higher education to transform her life for herself and her children.
Lindenmuth completed her bachelor's degree in science and sports management in spring 2020 and earned a master's degree in criminal justice with an emphasis on law enforcement in fall 2024 as an online student at GCU. She said about her educational journey: “I wanted to show my kids that no matter how late I started, and no matter all the adversity and problems we’ve seen, you can do anything if you put your mind to it.”
Balancing her roles as a boxer and mother, Lindenmuth initially joined a gym to stay active after training in karate during her teenage years. Her commitment led her to lose 37 pounds and transition from amateur boxing to becoming a professional fighter in 2022. She remarked on this transformation: “I sunk myself, my heart and soul into it.”
Her daily routine includes early morning training sessions before taking her children to school and working full-time as a trainer with the state of New Mexico. “You can do it all if you plan it correctly,” she stated.
Beyond boxing, Lindenmuth aims for a career in law enforcement. She has applied to join the FBI and credits boxing for teaching valuable skills such as coachability and discipline. She expressed confidence in God's timing for her career path: “Delay is not denial; God made me better to be where I am supposed to be.”
Lindenmuth's faith has been bolstered by support from GCU counselors like Luis Rivera Sarabia who said: “I do not doubt that she will continue to accomplish amazing things in the future.”
As she continues her journey both inside and outside the ring, Lindenmuth is prepared to face contenders like Esneidy Olmos or Yokasta Valle with aspirations of earning titles. Her coach Anthony Rosales supports this ambition stating: “We train hard to fight easy.”
