Tucker Hudson and Dianne Carla Mae Nasibog have been elected as the president and vice president of the Associated Students of Grand Canyon University (GCU) for the 2025-26 academic year. The newly-elected leaders are already preparing for their roles, interviewing potential members for their administration while balancing academic commitments.
Hudson, a junior from Mountain House, California, is majoring in communication. Nasibog hails from Soldotna, Alaska, and is studying government/local and state policy. Both expressed gratitude for the opportunity given by their peers. "Honestly, we are blessed and grateful for this opportunity," said Hudson. "We firmly believed in our platform."
The duo attributed their election success to authenticity and Christ-like values reflected during their campaign. "I’m glad the student body was able to see that reflected throughout the campaign," Hudson noted.
Nasibog shared insights into her background, mentioning her move from the Philippines to Alaska at age six with her mother, who works as a correctional facilities nurse. She emphasized finding spiritual growth and community at GCU: "I came here on a whim but ended up finding myself spiritually."
Both leaders have clear goals for their term in office. Hudson aims to implement crowd meters at gyms, improve Wi-Fi connectivity, and add more ice machines on campus. Nasibog focuses on enhancing communication with students: "Tucker and I ran to bring a different set of communication skills to the table."
They are eager to work alongside GCU President Brian Mueller and other administrators. Hudson stated his enthusiasm about being a liaison between students and administration: "We are pumped and ecstatic to get to do it." Nasibog added that they hope to honor the trust placed in them by fellow students.
