Fellow contestants congratulated Claire Miller after she was named the winner of GCU’s Got Talent, sponsored by the Canyon Activities Board at Grand Canyon University's Global Credit Union Arena on Tuesday night.

When her name was called, Miller began playing Billie Eilish’s “Lovely” from the back of the arena. Dressed in a long blue dress with her violin, she moved towards the stage while performing a medley of popular songs. The audience responded enthusiastically to Travis Scott's “Fe!n,” JVKE’s “Golden Hour,” and Ludovico Einaudi's “Experience.”

The crowd voted Miller as the 2025 winner among ten acts. In previous years, winners included a yo-yo performer and a comedian.

Miller expressed her joy afterward, acknowledging her family who traveled from Pennsylvania to support her. She shared her passion for music: "I love when they ask me to play a song for them. I can play any song by ear." Her musical journey began at age six, influenced by classical music and learning popular songs through Spotify.

Another notable performance came from freshman Jaylan Watkins with his rendition of “Feeling Good.” He described his style as R&B gospel with jazz influences.

The event also featured magician Tim Mullins, singer Bria Williams, rock band Varlets, and other performers like Gannon McShane with his yo-yo act and comedian Marshall McNamee.

Faith played a significant role throughout the competition. Before it began, performers gathered backstage for an impromptu worship session. CAB event coordinator Emma Hamilton remarked on this spontaneous moment: "They just really love the Lord and decided to break out into a worship."
