Congressman Abraham J. Hamadeh from Arizona's 8th District has voted in favor of the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act, aimed at enhancing the integrity of U.S. elections. The bill, which passed successfully in the House with support from his Republican colleagues, is part of Hamadeh's broader efforts to improve trust in the electoral process.
In addition to supporting the SAVE Act, Congressman Hamadeh has put forth the Voting Only Through English Act, also known as the VOTE Act. This legislation mandates that states use only English-language ballots to qualify for federal election funds. Congressman Hamadeh's bill is in line with a recent executive order by President Trump that designates English as the United States' official language, emphasizing national unity and American values.
Hamadeh expressed his approval of the SAVE Act, stating, "The vote on the SAVE Act was a HUGE win for election integrity! I was a strong 'yes' vote because with the passage of this bill, the Republican-led House has taken the first of many necessary steps to ensure that U.S. citizens are the only voters deciding the fate of this great nation through the democratic process." He further advocated for his VOTE Act, noting, "By mandating English-only ballots, we ensure a common language that binds our nation together, safeguarding our constitutional republic from the divisiveness of multilingual ballots."
The original cosponsors of the VOTE Act include Michael Baumgartner from Washington, Doug LaMalfa from California, Victoria Spartz from Indiana, Brandon Gill from Texas, Joe Wilson from South Carolina, Ronny Jackson from Texas, and Pat Harrigan from North Carolina. The bill has also received endorsements from the Election Integrity Network and Conserva Mi Voto (Protect My Vote).
