City of Peoria issued the following announcement on April 28
As temperatures reach the triple digits in the Valley amid the COVID-19 pandemic, health officials are asking residents to be cautious of outdoor activity. The Arizona Department of Health Services and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommend the following safety tips for those exploring the outdoors:
Avoid being outdoors during the hottest parts of the day
Wear a hat, sunglasses and sunscreen
Stay hydrated and carry water with you
Know the signs of heat illness such as headache, dizziness, rapid pulse, nausea or vomiting, excessive sweating or no sweating, and cool, clammy skin
Maintain six feet of distance from others
Wash your hands frequently
Consider wearing a face mask
Avoid groups of 10 people or more
Never leave kids or pets in the car
