Billy Bragg and Helen Fokszanskyj-Conti have secured the Republican nominations for Arizona House of Representatives District 29.
Ballotpedia reports more than 8,800 votes were cast with Bragg receiving 43.1% of the votes and Fokszanskyj-Conti receiving 31.9%. Both defeated Alysia McMillan who obtained 24.9% of the votes.
The total numbers for each Republican candidate were as follows: Bragg, 3,817 votes; Fokszanskyj-Conti, 2,827 votes; and McMillian, 2,205 votes.
Bragg and Fokszanskyj-Conti will both advance to the general election where they will battle for the two District 29 seats alongside incumbents Cesar Chavez and Richard Andrade. Chavez and Andrade defeated Teddy Castro in the Democratic primary.
Chavez received 45.3% of the more than 19,000 votes cast while Andrade received 30.4% and Castro received 24.3%. The total numbers for each Democratic candidate were as follows: Chavez, 8,725 votes; Andrade, 5,864 votes; and Castro, 4,682 votes.
