“A FALL CELEBRATION” on Saturday, October 15

The Sun City Concert Band opens the 2022-2023 Season with “A FALL CELEBRATION” on Saturday, October 15, 2:00pm at the Sundial Auditorium, 14801 N 103rd Ave, Sun City.

You will be treated to several up-tempo marches including “Colonel Bogey”, "Moorside March” and two march arrangements from “The Presidents Own” United States Marine Band.  The percussion section will be featured in “The Homefront” which includes musical memories from World War II.  Musical selections from “Man of LaMancha” and “Encanto” will also be played.  Soloists featured in this opener will be Dan Reed, trumpeter and former Musical Director on the “Love Boat” for 20 years and Gary Tschudy, alto saxophonist, playing “Harlem Nocturne”.

The band is under the direction of Kenneth Jaeger, retired band director of Tolleson and Westview High Schools in Arizona.  His bands received more than 100 Superior ratings in contests and festivals under his leadership.  He was selected to “Who’s Who in Education” six times and “Who’s Who in America” twice.  He also directed the Glendale Summer Band for 10 years.  Kenneth is assisted by Charlie Musgrave who is also the director of “The Desert Brass Band” that is well known throughout the Valley.

ADMISSION IS FREE. GOODWILL DONATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED AT THE CONCLUSION OF THE CONCERT.
