The City of Tucson is planning for the future of a 3.5-mile stretch of the Grant Road corridor from Campbell to Swan. The project will include updates to an overlay district to guide future development along the Grant Road Investment District (GRID) and will coordinate closely with updates to an existing area plan known as the Grant-Alvernon Area Plan (GAAP).
WE NEED YOUR INPUT. Join the Planning and Development Services Department and provide valuable input on policies shaping future development along the Grant Road Corridor. Staff will update the community and be available to answer questions during an in-person or virtual open house, ensuring community members can learn more about the project.

What is an Overlay District? Tucson uses zoning to shape development patterns and land use. Urban Overlay Districts are optional zoning districts encouraging comprehensively planned, pedestrian, and transit-oriented urban infill and mixed-use areas. Urban Overlay Districts allow flexible development standards and establish design guidelines for the area.
How can you provide input? For more detailed information on this project, please visit the Grant Road Investment District Expansion project page and complete the online survey or attend one of the meetings listed above.
