Lane restrictions and preparatory work have been announced for two major roads in Peoria. The intersection of Lake Pleasant Parkway and Williams Road will be restricted due to traffic signal maintenance on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, between 8 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. During this time, the signal lights in all directions will be turned off and no left turns will be allowed. Police officers will be present to conduct traffic control in the area.
According to the City of Peoria Streets Division, work will also be conducted on 75th Avenue between Peoria Avenue and Thunderbird Road. This work is in preparation for an upcoming micro seal asphalt surface treatment scheduled for Spring 2024. The project includes lowering utilities, asphalt repairs, and the removal of the top layer of asphalt through micro milling. The purpose of micro milling is to smooth the road and minimize elevation differences between asphalt and concrete, thus avoiding potential hazards.
Lane restrictions will be in place throughout the project area, but at least one lane of traffic will remain open in each direction on 75th Avenue. Left turns may be restricted during this period. The City of Peoria is providing additional project details to affected residents and businesses along this corridor.
The preparatory work is expected to be completed in early March, weather permitting. For any inquiries or concerns, a 24/7 project hotline has been set up and can be reached at 602-532-6250.
Residents and motorists are advised to plan their routes accordingly and allow for extra travel time during these lane restrictions.
